Birmingham 2-1

Reason for tip

Birmingham are unbeaten at home in the Championship this season and won both meetings with QPR last term. QPR have scored in four straight games, though, so a clean sheet could be beyond the Blues.

Birmingham vs QPR Predictions

  • Birmingham are unbeaten at home in the Championship this season.
  • The Blues won both meetings with QPR in 2022/23
  • Both teams to score has landed in three of these teams’ last four fixtures.

Birmingham ready to bounce back

Birmingham’s five-match unbeaten start to the Championship season has been derailed by two away defeats but they are yet to be bested at home, recording wins against both Leeds and Plymouth before drawing with Millwall.

QPR’s two victories this term came on the road but they have also lost at Watford and Southampton.

Blues boss John Eustace fulfilled several roles on Rangers’ backroom staff before departing in the summer of 2022. He used that knowledge to guide his side to home and victories away in 2022-23 and his side can get back to winning ways on Friday.

Back goals in Brum

These clubs have each been involved in entertaining games in recent weeks. In fact, both teams to score bets have landed in three of the pair’s last four respective outings in the Championship.

Their two meetings last season ended with wins to nil for Birmingham but they have kept just two clean sheets in seven league games in 2023-24. That still tops QPR, whose sole shutout came in their 2-0 win at Middlesbrough.

It’s easy to foresee a home victory at St Andrew’s but QPR have netted in their last four games and it could turn into a tussle.

Even so, after their recent issues on the road, home comforts can help the Blues deliver a 2-1 victory.
