Tip Reasoning

  • QPR are unbeaten in their last four away games, winning three of those. Mark Warburton’s team have won five of their last eight matches.
  • Birmingham have gone three matches without winning, being hammered 4-0 by Blackburn on their last outing.
  • The Blues lost 2-0 at QPR earlier this season, failing to manage a single shot on target that day.

QPR get promotion charge back on track

After suffering back-to-back defeats to promotion rivals Stoke City and Bournemouth, in contests separated by a long Covid-enforced break, Queens Park Rangers returned to form with a last-gasp win at Bristol City in midweek. Mark Warburton’s team, who are seventh after a strong first half of the season, have now won five of their last eight Championship games.

Rangers have won three of their last four away games, drawing the other, and recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Sunday’s opponents, Birmingham City, back in September. Lee Bowyer’s Blues failed to manage a single shot on target that day, and after a winless run of three games was followed by their own virus-enforced stoppage, go into Sunday’s fixture out of shape.

Birmingham have won just four of their 11 home games this season, with all of those home triumphs coming over bottom-half opposition (Blackpool, Swansea, Bristol City, and Derby County). On the other hand, only four teams, amongst them the top two, can better QPR’s return of 17 points won on their travels this term.

Rangers can continue decent form

With many of the sides above them slipping up over December, this trip to St. Andrews represents a decent opportunity for QPR to continue to apply pressure to their promotion rivals.

We’re backing QPR, who have only lost two of their last 12 clashes with the Blues, to secure a second successive win on Sunday, with another 2-1 away win representing a decent correct score punt.
