Blackpool vs Northampton Predictions

The best bet is for Blackpool to beat Northampton at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. The visitors have lost four of their last six League One away games.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. Blackpool, in 20th place, have eight wins and 13 defeats from their 26 games, while Northampton, in 21st, have won eight and lost 12.

The hosts have kept things tight defensively in recent meetings between the two sides. Blackpool have kept clean sheets in six of their last eight head-to-heads against Northampton in League One.

Blackpool have been in fine form going forward, scoring in eight successive League One games, including a 4-0 win over Rotherham last month. They have found the net in nine of their last ten league games.

The visitors’ form is underwhelming. Northampton are without a win in five League One games and have failed to win seven of their last eight. They have also gone winless in five of their last six away games.

The visitors have been disappointing in front of goal this season, failing to score in three of their last four League One matches. They have just nine goals in 12 games on the road – an average of 0.75 goals a game.

A 2-0 home win for Blackpool looks a decent correct-score option. Three of the last four of Northampton’s League One games have gone under 2.5 goals and they have been on the wrong end of a two-goal deficit in five games this season.
