Struggling visitors should be opposed

Blackpool are the best bet to beat Reading at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. The visitors are yet to get off the mark away from home in League One this season – they have drawn four and lost three on the road.

Reading are four places above Blackpool in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts are 22nd with four wins and nine defeats, while Reading are 18th with four wins and five losses. In the 47 games between teams in the bottom half of the table, 24 (51%) have been home wins.

Reading are on a poor run of results, having failed to win any of their seven League One away games this season.

The visitors’ defence has been far from solid. Reading have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven League One away games and have conceded 12 goals on the road this season – an average of 1.71 goals per game from seven matches.

A 1-0 win for Blackpool looks the most likely correct score. Five of their last seven League One matches have produced under 2.5 goals and three of their four wins this season were by a single goal.
