      Sturm Graz vs Fenerbahce Predictions

      • Sturm Graz have lost one of their six home European games since the start of last season
      • Fenerbahce have won only three of their last 14 away trips in Europe
      • The visitors drew 1-1 at Gornik Zabrze after winning the home leg in the last round

Sturm Graz can restore some pride

Fenerbahce are in pole position to make the final round of Champions League qualifying thanks to their 2-0 home victory in the first leg of this tie last week.

The Turkish outfit are favourites to claim a victory in Tuesday’s return contest, but there’s little motivation for them to do anything more than protect their lead.

Sturm Graz returned to winning ways in the Austrian Bundesliga over the weekend, and they’ll be aiming to restore some pride after being firmly second-best in their visit to Turkey last week.

However, Sturm Graz have lost one of six home European games since last season, including victories over Bodo / Glimt, Rangers, Brann, and last month’s 4-0 win against Hearts.

Away wins haven’t come easy for Fener in recent years. They beat Nottingham Forest at the City Ground earlier this year, but that tie was effectively over after their 3-0 first-leg defeat. They’ve won three of their last 14 European trips, so Sturm Graz appeal to at least claim a draw.
