Braga and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Braga have won four of their last six away games and should be too strong for Boavista, who have managed just one victory in their last eight Primeira Liga home matches. However, both teams have scored in seven of the last eight meetings between this pair and that outcome should be backed alongside an away win.

Braga 3-1

Reason for tip

Seven of Braga’s last ten away games have gone over 3.5 goals while the same is true for five of Boavista’s last nine matches. The reverse fixture finished 4-1 to Braga, but Boavista received an first-half red card in that clash so expect them to keep things a bit closer this time around.

Boavista vs Braga Predictions

  • Boavista have won only one of their last eight Primeira Liga home matches
  • Braga have won four of their last six away league games, only losing to Porto and Sporting Lisbon in that run
  • Both teams have scored in seven of the last eight meetings between these sides

Braga can bounce back from Europa exit

Braga suffered a shock exit from the Europa League on Thursday, being bounced out by Qarabag on aggregate despite winning the second-leg in Azerbaijan.

They will be looking for an immediate reaction following that disappointment and luckily they have a good opportunity to get one against a Boavista side who struggle on their own patch, winning just one of their last eight home matches.

In fact, Boavista’s only two home wins in their past ten home games have come against bottom-side Chaves and fifth-bottom Estoril, suggesting they may struggle against Braga who are once again in the hunt for a Champions League berth.

Boavista bound to net in defeat

However, while Braga may prove too strong for Boavista, history suggests that the hosts can at least find the net.

Seven of the last eight meetings between the pair have seen both sides net and the Archbishops have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last ten away games, conceding 13 goals in their last five.

Despite their struggles at the back, Braga have still won four of their last six away games – only losing to highflyers Porto and Sporting Lisbon in that sequence – and should be too strong for Boavista, but back the hosts to net in defeat just as they did in the reverse fixture which finished 4-1.
