      Bolton vs Wolves Predictions

It is very obvious where Bolton’s problems lie. It took them 450 minutes to score their first goal of the season, which was a 90th minute leveller by Stephen Dobbie at home to Nottingham Forest in their most recent home game. Any hopes that the floodgates would open after that were quickly put to bed by a dour 0-0 derby draw at Blackburn last time out.

Neil Lennon may have had a fortnight to work on a few things but he’s not a magician and you just can’t see Wanderers scoring many goals this season. The arrival of Wellington Silva on loan from Arsenal has at least given their attack an extra dimension but whether he is good enough to really spearhead it is more questionable.

Fortunately they are keeping things pretty tight at the back and only one of their six games so far has had more than 2 goals in it. There have been a few goals in matches involving Wolves but the departure of Bakary Sako to Crystal Palace came as a huge blow for them and they looked surprisngly toothless in attack when they visited Cardiff in their last away game.

They may have to adapt their strategy a little without Sako and this is likely to be a fairly tight game and it looks well worth backing there to be under 2.5 goals at 3/4.
Wolves did at least respond well to back-to-back defeats by coming from behind to beat Charlton 2-1 last time out. Adam Le Fondre made a big difference when he came on as substitute and scored the winner for the Black Country side.

He scored 8 times in 16 starts for Bolton last season and it would be ironic but not surprising if he was to return to the Macron Stadium and score a goal against his former employers who are desperate for a reliable goalscorer, which Le Fondre certainly is at this level.

However there have been signs of improvement in Bolton in the past two weeks and they should grind out enough results to avoid a relegation battle. That could be the case here too and they have enough to nick a point and you can back it to finish 1-1 at 5/1.
