      Reason for tip

Dundee have lost their opening two matches in this season’s Scottish League Cup, both by 1-0 scorelines to lower-league opposition, and while Steven Pressley’s side should finally get some points on the board against non-league Bonnyrigg Rose, it is likely to be hard going so backing the unders could make sense.

      Bonnyrigg Rose vs Dundee Predictions

      • Dundee have lost their opening two matches in this season’s Scottish League Cup
      • Bonnyrigg Rose have already been eliminated from this season’s competition
      • This will be the third season in a row that these two sides have met in the Scottish League Cup

Dundee yet to get going under Pressley

Dundee are on the brink of an early exit from this season’s Scottish League Cup after going down 1-0 in their opening two Group C matches to lower league Airdrieonians and Alloa Athletic.

That represents a far from an ideal start for new head coach Steven Pressley, with the Dee needing to win their final two group games to stand any chance of reaching the knockout stages and even that will likely not be enough.

The good news for Pressley is his side should have no problem seeing off Bonnyrigg Rose, who after being relegated from Scottish League Two last season, have lost all three of their matches in the League Cup and have already been eliminated from the competition.

Going could be tough for Premiership visitors

This will be the third season in a row that these two sides have met in the group phase, with Dundee winning the previous two encounters in contrasting fashion, following up a narrow 1-0 win in 2023 with a resounding 7-1 success last term.

While the visitors will once again be expected to leave New Dundas Park with the points, it is more likely to be by the former margin rather than the latter.

There have been only two goals scored in Dundee’s opening two group-stage matches, both by the opposition, and while they should have too much for the lowest-ranked team in the group, this is unlikely to be high scoring, with the under 2.5 goal market perhaps offering the best value.
