      Bordeaux vs Le Havre Predictions

Bordeaux are out for revenge this week, as they look to improve on their weekend slip up. Le Harve won 1-0 in the French Cup meeting between these two, but will they pull off success in the Coupe de la Ligue? It’s tough to see them pulling off two giant-killings at the same opponent in a matter of days, so the hosts have been priced up as the favourites for the result. They’re aiming for a semi-final place in the French League Cup, and with lower-league opposition at home, Bordeaux have a huge chance to progress.

The home side have been dealt a blow with their French Cup shock, but they are aiming to set things right when they meet the Ligue 2 side on Wednesday. After the weekend slip, we do expect better from the mid-table hosts. they’ve not got a great deal going for them this term, sitting in 12th place in the table. The Cup was the second competition they exited this term, following their elimination in the Europa League. All isn’t quite lost yet, as this quarter-final could be a huge chance for Bordeaux.

Le Harve may have beaten top-tier opposition, but it remains a rare clash for them. They’re sitting 10th in Ligue 2, so there’s little chance of them getting back to the highest level any time soon. They are in decent form, but their away record in the league isn’t all that great. They’re without a win in four, shipping six goals in that time. Visiting a top-flight side should be tougher, especially now that the hosts have had their weekend wake-up call.

Bordeaux have won three of their last four home clashes with Le Harve, all of those have been comfortable successes for the hosts, too. They’ve scored nine times in those four clashes, now they’re aiming to up their scoring form to see off lower league opposition. The hosts have averaged 1.5 goals per game at home this term, a record which they should be able to build upon in Wednesday’s cup encounter.

The hosts have won four of their last five home matches in this competition. They hit 12 goals across those matches, losing out to PSG in their single defeat. Meanwhile, Le Harve have lost out in five of their last seven trips in this competition, so we are inclined to side with the home side. While they’re a decent price to win the game, we think there’s better value in backing Bordeaux to score over 1.5 goals in this clash.
