Borussia Dortmund to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals
Reasoning
Borussia Dortmund vs FC Copenhagen Predictions
- Dortmund come into this on the back of consecutive 1-0 wins.
- All of Dortmund’s wins against Danish sides produced under 2.5 goals.
- Four of Copenhagen’s last five games resulted with under 3.5 goals.
The Yellow Wall can stop Copenhagen in their tracks
After recording two uncharacteristically low scoring 1-0 draws in domestic action ahead of this, Borussia Dortmund enter the Champions League with a new found sense of defensive solidity, perhaps instilled into them after losing 3-2 to Werder in historic circumstances a couple of weeks ago.
Dortmund are currently unbeaten against Danish sides in competitive H2Hs (W3, D1) but we may expect a close run thing here as all three victories therein produced under 2.5 total goals, while three of Dortmund’s last four competitive victories came by just a single goal margin.
While Copenhagen are favoured to finish bottom of this group, a solid record of four shutouts from six in their last Champions League group stage appearance back in 2016/17 could inspire confidence. However, the Danes came out on top in just three of their last 15 away games in the competition proper (D2, L11).
Terzic’s men can turn the screw
All in all, we think Dortmund have what it takes to come out on top in this game but perhaps not by such a dominant scoreline as the odds may suggest. We’re backing a Dortmund win with under 3.5 match goals, with a smaller stakes selection going the way of a 2-0 home win.
