Bradford vs Cambridge United Predictions

After a long summer in which other sports have taken centre stage, the time is finally upon us and a new season begins in the Football League this weekend. In League Two we see a meeting between two sides who we think will have contrasting fortunes in the campaign ahead as our tips for the league title, Bradford City, take on one of the sides we have tipped for the drop in Cambridge United.

Bradford City will be hoping they can put the demons of last season to bed as soon as possible following their relegation from League One and with an immediate return to the third tier of English football undoubtedly the target, they will be hoping they can get off to a perfect start. The hosts have recruited plenty of experience in the off season and will know that if they are to accomplish their goals, then maintaining a strong record in front of their own fans will be essential.

Making the trip to Valley Parade is a Cambridge United side who will be determined to get their season off to the perfect start as they bid to prove our tip of relegation to be incorrect. The visitors have had a difficult off season as Jevani Brown was their top scorer and provider last season with seven goals and eight assists, but has since been sold on to Colchester United. Given that United have struggled to find the net on a regular basis for a few seasons now, they look unlikely to have the firepower required in order to trouble a side who should be challenging for the title.

The hosts may well be favourites for the title, but we also think that they should be able to back up this tag by also securing three points on the opening day of the season. City’s experienced squad should know exactly what it takes to hit the ground running and given the lack of goal threat displayed by their hosts, backing a home win looks to be the way to go in this fixture.
