Juventus To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Genoa have lost five of their last eight Serie A matches and have been struggling to score lately, failing to find a goal in each of their last two in all competitions. Meanwhile, Juventus have won five of their seven away league games and kept clean sheets in seven of their last ten league games overall.

Juventus 2-0

Reason for tip

At least two goals have been scored in four of Juve’s seven away league games while the Old Lady have been very tight in defence of late, keeping seven clean sheets in their last ten league contests. They will have a very good chance of getting another against a blunt Genoa outfit that has failed to score against their last three top-half opponents.

Genoa vs Juventus Predictions

  • Juventus have kept seven clean sheets in their last 10 league games

Victory in Genoa should be a piece of cake for Juve

Juventus will look to steal a march on Serie A leaders Inter Milan when they travel to Genoa to take on the Rossoblu on Friday night.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men ground out a 1-0 win over Napoli last Friday to briefly go top of the table before the Nerazzuri answered back with an emphatic home win over Udinese.

Therein lies the difference between the top two — Inter are considerably more potent and their wins have been much more convincing than the Old Lady’s.

This trip to the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris is unlikely to yield anything but more of the same from the visitors, whose only real spark in attack comes via the effervescent presence of Federico Chiesa. But even he has been kept in check in the last two games as Monza’s and Napoli’s dominance of possession afforded him fewer chances to make an impact.

Gilardino’s side are not getting enough goals

Genoa are the total opposite of those clubs in terms of style and should present a similar problem to that of Udinese earlier this season.

Allegri’s team had the points in the bag by half-time that day after scoring three first-half goals and while this may not be as comfortable, the visitors should be able to pick up all three points with a couple of strikes to their name.

Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa come into this off the back of a 1-0 defeat in Monza that saw them create more than the hosts, but they have struggled to put the ball in the back of the net all season and may not be able to breach a Juve defence that has kept seven clean sheets in their last 10 league games.
