Juventus 1-0

Reason for tip

Genoa have lost two of their last three league matches and may be jaded after a tough cup loss to Sampdoria in midweek. Juventus, who have kept five consecutive clean sheets in Serie A, can eke out a 1-0 win.

Genoa vs Juventus Predictions

  • Genoa have lost two of their last three league matches and failed to score in each defeat
  • Juventus have failed to score in their last three league games
  • Juventus have kept five consecutive clean sheets in Serie A

Vlahovic becoming a costly problem for Juventus

One or both teams could keep a clean sheet when an out-of-sorts Juventus travel to Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris to face a lacklustre Genoa side in Serie A on Saturday.

Thiago Motta is still looking for a spark in attack as the Old Lady have failed to score in three consecutive league games, albeit they remain undefeated and are yet to concede in domestic action this term.

Dusan Vlahovic’s form has fallen off the chart and the Serbian striker was replaced at half-time in last weekend’s 0-0 home draw with Napoli. The highest-paid player in Serie A has not been giving anything like value for money and Juventus may already be exploring options to ship him out.

Gilardino’s Genoa are feeling low

Genoa, meanwhile, come into this clash on the back of a demoralising Coppa Italia defeat to local rivals Sampdoria in midweek. The match was marred by clashes between rival supporters and the police, but on the pitch Genoa were very defensive and deservedly knocked out after a penalty shoot-out.

Alberto Gilardino is without several key attackers at the moment: Junior Messias, Caleb Ekuban and Ruslan Malinovskyi, who suffered a horrific injury during their 2-0 defeat at Venezia last weekend.

Morale at the Marassi is pretty low at the moment and this match should be a great opportunity for Juve to get back to winning ways. But in their current state of goalscoring form, backing both teams not to score appeals more than taking a chance on the Bianconeri to win on the road at not-too dissimilar odds.
