Bragantino vs Botafogo Predictions
- Both teams have scored in each of the last four games to feature RB Bragantino, which have contained a total of 18 goals.
- The hosts have shipped eight goals in their last three outings.
- Only three Serie A teams have conceded more goals than Bragantino or Botafogo (both 19) in 2022.
Entertainment likely in Sao Paulo
RB Bragantino have struggled to match the lofty heights of their 2021 campaign so far this season, sitting in 11th place after claiming a sixth-placed finish last term. Mauricio Barbieri’s men have won just two of their last 13 games in all competitions during a frustrating run, with a poor defensive record hindering their efforts, but that has led to some entertaining affairs, another of which looks possible when Botafogo visit.
Indeed, Bragantino have shipped eight goals in their last three games after a 4-2 hammering by Athletico Paranaense last time out, and only three teams, two of whom occupy spots in the bottom four, have conceded more than their 19 Serie A goals against this term. Barbieri’s men have only kept one clean sheet in their last 13 games, a run stretching back over two months, and their fragility may be displayed once more when they host Botafogo.
Luis Castro’s Rio giants are locked on the same points tally as their next opponents, having won just two of their last eight games in an inconsistent run of their own. However, while only table-topping Palmeiras have outscored Botafogo on the road this term (nine goals), their defensive record is as bad as that of Bragantino (19 league goals conceded), and they have shipped 10 goals in their seven road trips.
Both teams to score a strong play
With neither team inspiring confidence amongst punters with inconsistent runs of form, backing both teams to find the net looks a strong play when two leaky defences meet in Brazil.
Meanwhile, the hosts are unbeaten in the clubs’ last five head-to-head meetings, and a hard-fought 2-1 win for Bragantino looks a decent correct score prediction.
