Danes and Wales seek first points

Denmark host Wales in the Nations League on Sunday as both sides bid to respond after defeats in their respective openers.

A first half Joao Felix strike proved to be Wales’ undoing as they slipped to a 1-0 loss in Portugal, while Denmark went down 3-2 in Norway in a thriller.

The Danes have a strong home record with six wins and no defeats in their last eight on home soil and they should be able to claim maximum points against the Dragons, who are winless in five and have four defeats in their last six on the road.

Backing Denmark to win and concede looks the best angle here as Wales created some decent chances in Portugal despite drawing a blank. Prior to that 1-0 loss, Craig Bellamy’s visitors had scored in seven successive games.

Goals at both ends has been a feature of Denmark’s recent games with both teams scoring in six of their last eight. Six of those games have also gone over 3.5 goals so we could be in line for an entertaining affair and this time the Danes can be on the right side of a 3-2 scoreline, as the Scandinavian side have shipped at least two goals in four of their last seven games.

Rasmus Hojlund scored five goals in World Cup qualifying for Denmark and was on target in the defeat in Norway. The former Manchester United man has two goals in Serie A for Napoli this season and he stands out as a candidate for an anytime effort.
