      Brighton vs Bolton Predictions

Chris Hughton’s men are over their problematic spell when they were struggling for goals with veteran striker Bobby Zamora popping up with some crucial goals while they also added to their squad well in January so if anything Brighton are looking more like potential promotion contenders than they did during their long unbeaten run at the start of the campaign.

Their 3-0 win at home to Brentford last Friday was their 3rd consecutive win and the first time all season they have won a game by more than 1 goal. Anthony Knockaert was the stand-out performer grabbing one goal and he looks to have added some much needed penetration to the Brighton attack.

Things are also looking up for Bolton although they remain in the bottom 3. Having won just twice all season they have won 3 games in the last month including a crucial 2-1 home win against fellow strugglers Rotherham last time out.

This though will clearly be a tougher game but they will feel as though they can cause Brighton a few problems given that they have scored quite a few goals in recent weeks. They’ve netted 11 times in their last 5 matches and there have been 3 or more goals in total in all of their last 7 games. Given Brighton are also looking more dangerous, backing there to be over 2.5 goals in this one at 19/20 certainly looks like a good bet.

It’s hard to look past Brighton for the win though. Bolton haven’t won any of their 16 away games this season and have picked up just 4 points from their 15 Championship matches on the road. Taking in their recent improvement and Brighton’s tendency to win games by just 1 goal, there may be some sense in punting for a 2-1 home win here at 7/1.
