Robins have a chance for first home win

Two out-of-form teams meet at Ashton Gate in the Championship on Saturday as Barnsley make the trip to Bristol City.

The Robins have lost their last three games, while Barnsley are looking to end a six-game losing streak and have just one win in 14 attempts in the Championship.

The Tykes would be bottom of the table and six points adrift of safety had Derby not been hit with a 12-point deduction and it is hard to see them getting any kind of result in the West Country.

The Robins may have lost their last three – but two of those losses have come against the current top three and the other was to an in-form Nottingham Forest outfit.  The home side are yet to lose to a team that currently sits below them in the Championship table and have won both of their games against sides who are in the bottom five going into this round of fixtures, which suggests they should be too strong for Barnsley.

Bristol City are yet to claim a win at home this season but this looks like an ideal opportunity to end that run. The Robins have managed four wins in the league, and with Barnsley in freefall a home win at odds against has to be the call here. Barnsley have managed just one goal in their last five away games and have failed to score in five of their last seven games overall, so a 1-0 win for Bristol City has some appeal in the correct score market.
