      Bristol City vs Charlton Predictions

Saturday saw Bristol City’s promising looking unbeaten streak come to an end as they were hammered 3-0 at the hands of a Luton side that had lost more than half their Championship matches this season, and they have little time to recover from the shock of that defeat as they’re thrown straight back into action on Wednesday.

They face off against a Charlton side that have been very impressive since their promotion from League One. The visitors sit up in 7th place in the Championship and are just four points adrift of the top spot, although with The Robins just a point behind them, they could find their position weakened significantly if they lose on Wednesday.

Losing isn’t a foregone conclusion though. Bristol City’s nine match unbeaten streak was undeniably impressive, but it’s important to remember that they have now won just two of their last seven outings in the Championship. Draws against Middlesbrough, Swansea, Preston North End and Brentford saw their form dip, and this hosting of Charlton will be anything but easy.

The Addicks have only lost three of their 12 Championship outings this season, and surprisingly two of these defeats have come at The Valley. Away from home they have won two, drawn two and lost one of their five league outings, and have scored exactly two goals in four of these five matches.

Bristol City hold exactly the same record as their opponents at Ashton Gate, winning two, drawing two and losing one so far. They are unbeaten in four matches, but the form of their opposition means that a Charlton Win or Draw Double Chance looks fantastic value for money here.

The hosts have scored two goals in 40% of their home games this season, and we’ve already mentioned Charlton’s penchant for a double. A 2-2 draw has been played out in two of Charlton’s away games this season and in one match at Ashton Gate, so backing that looks the best value on offer for the correct score prediction.
