Complacency could set in for Sunderland

Bristol City are among the leading contenders to land a playoff berth in the Championship but they face a stern test on Good Friday when they host fourth-placed Sunderland.

The Black Cats are one place and 12 points better off than the Robins, assured of a playoff berth but out of the running for automatic promotion.

They could therefore risk cruising towards the playoffs and, in their current form, Bristol City are the obvious pick.

Red-hot Robins continue to impress

The Robins have lost just two league games since the start of February and they go into this match fresh from three wins in their last five Championship games.

All of those victories came at Ashton Gate, where they have been formidable since the turn of the year, winning seven of their ten home games in the league in 2025.

Liam Manning is doing a fantastic job and Bristol City carry decent attacking firepower in Anis Mehmeti and Nakhi Wells, who have scored a combined 22 goals in the Championship this term.

Sunderland have taken just one point from their last two games against Norwich and Swansea and should be opposed with Bristol City worth backing to win 2-1.
