Crewe vs Shrewsbury Predictions

  • Shrewsbury are unbeaten in their last four league matches
  • Shrewsbury have conceded twice in their last five league games
  • Crewe have conceded nine goals in their last three outings

The Shrews hoping to continue their fine league form

Leading into last weekend’s cup exit at Anfield, Shrewsbury were putting together a fine run in the league. Steve Cotterill’s men are unbeaten in their last four league outings taking 10 points from a the 12 on offer. Shrewsbury’s back four can be largely to thank for their recent success in the league. The Shrew’s have kept three clean sheets in a row and have only conceded twice in their last five League One matches.

Crewe’s woes set to deepen

David Artell’s men look destined for the drop this season. Currently sat in 22nd spot four points from safety Crewe look set for another stint in League Two. For them to have any chance of survival they must strengthen their back line in the January window. Their defensive woes have been evident of late, conceding nine times in their last three games. Prior to hosting Charlton in midweek, A 4-1 defeat at Burton was followed by a 4-2 loss at home to Rotherham which saw them bow out of the EFL Trophy.

Red-hot Udoh may strike once again

Shrewsbury are currently six points above the drop zone and their hopes avoiding a relegation dog fight may rest on their ability to keep hold of leading scorer Daniel Udoh. Udoh opened the scoring at Anfield on Sunday and has found the net seven times in the league this season, six of which have come in his last nine games. Udoh, a man in red-hot form of late is fancied add to his tally on Saturday.

Shrewsbury are fancied to put last weekend’s cup exit behind them and are the selection in the outright market. Ill predict a 2-0 away win in the correct score market and to round off my three-pronged attack in this game I will put up Daniel Udoh to continue his fine form and is the pick in the Anytime Goalscorer market.
