Burton Albion vs AFC Wimbledon Predictions
- Wimbledon have drawn 37.5% of their League One matches this season
- Three of the last four meetings between these teams have resulted in draws
- The reverse fixture between these sides finished 1-1
Wimbledon hard to beat under Robinson
Mark Robinson’s Wimbledon side have been difficult to beat in the league of late, and it’s this resolve that may help The Dons stave off relegation. Wimbledon have only lost two of their last eight League One matches, four of those games have ended all-square and Wimbledon will need to continue this form to avoid another stint in league two.
In truth Wimbledon can be dubbed somewhat draw specialists this season. They have drawn nine of their 24 league games this season (37.5%), a number that can only be bettered by Sheffield Wednesday and Cheltenham who both have 10 stalemates to their name. The Dons last two games have finished 0-0 and the reverse fixture with Burton finished 1-1 earlier in the season.
Burton may struggle to break down the visitors
Burton come into this game on the back of a three-match unbeaten run. However, they have been picking off some of the weaker sides in the league and may find things more difficult against a plucky Dons side. Two wins against Gillingham and Crewe formulate part of the run they are currently on, and that form doesn’t have much substance with both of those sides in the bottom three.
Three of the last four meetings between these teams have ended all-square and I fancy a repeat dose on Saturday, my main selection will be for this to end in a draw. Two of those three draws finished 1-1, which was the score line when these two sides meet earlier in the season and 1-1 will be my prediction in the correct score market.
