Cadiz in need of points

Cadiz are one point from safety in the La Liga relegation zone, and if they are going to pull clear of danger they simply must turn around their dreadful home form.

In fairness, Sergio’s side are tough to beat at home, but their victory last time out came against a Rayo Vallecano side who are in free-fall and followed draws against Espanyol, Celta Vigo and Getafe.

Their only point against a team in the top eight positions was a draw with Barcelona early on in the campaign, while they have won just once in seven outings in all competitions, home or away.

Villarreal in stunning form

An astounding 3-0 victory in Turin against Juventus on Wednesday night saw Villarreal book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, registering a third away win in four games in the process.

Unai Emery’s side are on a golden streak, losing just once in nine in all competitions and only two of their last 13 La Liga fixtures.

They have registered only three victories on the road in the league, but none of their defeats (home or away) have come against a side in the relegation zone.

I predict Villarreal will register another win here, so that is my initial selection, picking 2-1 as a correct score prediction.
