Canada vs Honduras Predictions
- Canada have won all three previous Concacaf Nations League home games to nil
- Honduras have failed to score in three of their last four away internationals
- Canada are unbeaten in three of their last four meetings with Honduras, keeping two clean sheets
Canucks should show their class
It is all to play for in Group C of the Concacaf Nations League with Canada and Honduras locked together with six points apiece.
Honduras got the better of the Canucks in a 2-1 victory in San Pedro Sula in June but home advantage ought to benefit the Canadians in Toronto.
Despite losing all three matches at last year’s World Cup, the Canadians were a joy to watch and they certainly didn’t deserve to suffer a 1-0 defeat in their opening game to Belgium.
The Canucks then netted in reverses to Croatia and Morocco and in Lille’s Jonathan David, Bayern’s Alphonso Davies and Porto’s Stephen Eustaquio, they have growing European pedigree.
And John Herdman’s men should be too strong at home for Honduras, who simply can’t boast the same quality and have already lost to Curacao in this three-team group phase.
Canada were 4-0 winners at home to Curacao in June, while also winning 2-0 away on Sunday, and they could also win this contest to nil.
Honduras are far more reliable when armed with home advantage and, interestingly, they have failed to score in three of their last four away games.
Although Canada were beaten at Honduras last summer, they had gone three games unbeaten to those opponents prior to that, keeping two clean sheets in the process.
