Cardiff vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
- Nottingham Forest have won six of their last ten away games in the Championship (Three draws, One defeat).
- Cardiff City have lost nine of their last ten home Championship contests (One win).
- Five of the last nine Cardiff home league games have finished 1-0 to the visitors.
Forest’s path to playoffs almost complete
Nottingham Forest can continue their remarkable four-month ascent of the Championship – moving from bottom of the table to the playoff positions – on Saturday when they take on relegation-threatened Cardiff City.
Forest’s midweek win over Barnsley took Steve Cooper’s side to seventh – a point behind Huddersfield in the last playoff place – and they will be confident of recording a third away win in four at Cardiff City Stadium.
Since losing to the Terriers in December, the Reds have won four straight – including the ousting of Arsenal from the FA Cup – and kept three clean sheets in the process.
Morison hasn’t cured Cardiff’s blues
Cardiff are not regular scorers and can currently lay a rather dubious claim to having the worst home record in the Football League. Steve Morison hasn’t been able to lift the performances or spirits around the club, which has the feel of one heading in the wrong direction.
There was a bit of fight evident in last weekend’s 3-2 loss at cross-border rivals Bristol City, but it has been lacking in recent home reverses to Hull City, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers.
If ever a game looked as straightforward a 1-0 away win on paper it was this. Forest are an efficient team with four of their last five wins coming by a single goal-margin and Cardiff have lost five of their last nine games by the same 1-0 scoreline.
