Tip Reasoning

  • WBA are unbeaten in the Championship this term with five wins and four draws.
  • Cardiff City have lost their last three league games, including a 5-1 thrashing at Blackburn on Saturday.
  • The Bluebirds have won just one of their four home starts this term, losing two.

WBA to compound Cardiff’s recent woes

Cardiff City’s wretched form worsened further with a 5-1 hammering at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and The Bluebirds look extremely vulnerable going into this Tuesday night’s home clash against promotion favourites West Brom.

City had already lost four of their last five matches in all competitions prior to their trip to Ewood Park, where they found themselves 4-0 down and humiliated after just 53 minutes.

The Bluebirds managed to limit the damage for the remainder of the contest, but that came as little consolation to under fire boss Mick McCarthy, who openly admitted his concerns post-match, surmising that ‘teams may have just worked out how to beat us’.

A quick turnaround and fixture against one of the leading promotion candidates seems like the last thing Cardiff need right now and you have to fear for them against The Baggies with confidence seemingly shot amongst McCarthy’s squad.

WBA fought back from 1-0 down to beat QPR 2-1 at The Hawthorns on Friday, extending their unbeaten start to the season (W5, D4) and ensuring that they go into this midweek round of fixtures still second in the early Championship standings.

While The Cardiff City Stadium would usually represent a difficult road trip for most sides in the second tier, this isn’t the case at present and the Welsh outfit have won just one from four here this term, losing two.

The Baggies are available at odds-against which should be snapped up and we’re also recommending a 3-1 correct score in favour of Valerien Ismael’s side.
