Tough match for second placed Espanyol

Castellon hosts Espanyol this weekend with both sides needing three points for differing reasons as the season begins to draw to a close.

The hosts are hovering just above the relegation places on goal difference but have found some form in recents weeks, going four games unbeaten and beating fellow strugglers Sabadell. Their form prior to this was so poor however that they’ve been unable to put any distance between themselves and the sides in the bottom four.

Espanyol have their own unbeaten run to protect with the visitors going seven games without a loss. They have drawn four of those match though, ultimately leaving themselves three points behind Mallorca at the top of the table and two points ahead of the chasing pack.

We think this match will be a close one despite the table suggesting otherwise and we’re backing this contest to end in a draw. There won’t be many goals in this contest either in our opinion and we’re forecasting a 1-1 scoreline.
