Both clubs have perhaps exceeded expectations so far this season. Alaves are playing in La Liga for the first time in a decade so survival was always going to be the number one objective and they look more than capable of achieving that. They have struggled at times at home but this could be a game that is more suited to them.

Their results this term suggest they are better when they face a side which plays positively and commits men forward. They are one of the most positive sides in the league and will get bodies forward which should create space for the hosts at the other end and lead to a relatively lively game.

Las Palmas have received plaudits far and wide for their football this term but defensively there are certainly problems to address, particularly when they play away. They are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road this season and have conceded 2.33 goals per game on average on their travels in La Liga. Even lower league Huesca managed to score twice against them in a 2-2 Copa del Rey draw in midweek and they’ve conceded twice or more in every single away game they’ve played this season.

Alaves might not be a prolific side in front of goal but they have enough weapons to cause a leaky Las Palmas defence problems. Their main goal threat remains Deyverson, who is their top scorer with 4 goals and his pace and trickery should make him a threat here, therefore backing Deyverson to score anytime at 6/4 looks a good shout.

Given just how bad Las Palmas have been at the back on the road, there also looks to be value in backing in-form Alaves to score over 1.5 goals at 6/4.
