Chelsea vs Everton Predictions
West Brom twice came from behind on Wednesday to stop Chelsea taking all three points at Stamford Bridge. But despite their failure to win, this did extend Chelsea’s unbeaten streak to six games in all competitions.
Three of these six games have ended in victory for Guus Hiddink’s interim team, results which have seen Chelsea progress in the FA Cup and make slight movements up the Premier League table.
They currently sit in 14th position in the table with 24 points from their first 21 matches. A loss against Everton could see them fall to within three points of the drop zone whereas a win could send them as high as 12th.
Everton have themselves been struggling to find wins. They have only lost twice in their last 15 outings in all competitions, but their goalless draw at Manchester City on Wednesday took their draw tally to seven for this period.
This sees them occupy a rather disappointing 11th position in the Premier League, with seven points sitting between them and a lucrative Europa League qualification position.
You can’t blame their attack though. The goalless draw at the Etihad was the first time they have failed to score since the middle of October, with 15 of their 16 matches since then seeing Romelu Lukaku and company produce a performance.
Chelsea are also in decent scoring form, having netted in seven of their last eight games and scoring a total of 15 goals during this period.
So both sides’ defences are letting the teams down and both sides’ attacking players are performing. That sounds like a Both Teams to Score bet to me, and odds of 8/11 for this outcome look fair to me. I’m also backing another draw for the two teams who are struggling to win, and 2-2 at 14/1 look very good value.
