Chelsea vs West Bromwich Albion Predictions
- Chelsea have kept seven clean sheets in a row at Stamford Bridge.
- Chelsea have kept 12 clean sheets in their last 14 assignments overall.
- Chelsea have won 11 of their last 14 fixtures.
- West Brom have failed to score in five of their last seven Premier League matches.
Chelsea’s rock-solid rearguard
Chelsea have conceded fewer goals than any other Premier League team since Thomas Tuchel’s appointment in January, and with their defence as tight as a drum, the Blues should be able to maintain their rhythm at WBA’s expense on Saturday.
Remarkably, Chelsea have yet to concede a single goal at Stamford Bridge under their new German taskmaster’s watch, and the Blues have played 630 minutes of football on their own patch without a blot on their defensive playbook.
Naturally, those regular clean sheets have led to some excellent results, and Chelsea have won ten and drawn the other four of their 14 fixtures since Tuchel traded Paris for London.
WBA need a miracle
West Brom resume their Premier League campaign a massive ten points from safety, and their performances before the international break suggested Sam Allardyce’s proud relegation record will tumble this term.
The Baggies mustered just one goal in their five top-flight tussles in the lead up to the brief club football hiatus and Albion drew a blank in each of their last three assignments away from the Hawthorns.
Another clean sheet for Chelsea
WBA have mustered a measly two goals in their last seven Premier League fixtures, and with their threat up front looking close to non-existent, the Baggies should struggle to lay a glove on Chelsea on Saturday.
The Blues’ defensive record has been exceptional since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival, and they are worth backing to secure the 13th clean sheet of the German’s short reign against a toothless Albion outfit at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea win to nil market is available at an attractive price this week, while our 2-0 correct score prediction tips the Blues to bag a brace for the sixth time in seven home matches.
West Brom’s results have been dismal, though Allardyce’s charges are rarely torn to shreds. Albion have conceded two or fewer goals in ten of their last 11 league tests, and they should be able to keep the final scoreline respectable in London.
Chelsea injuries and team news
Chelsea hope to welcome Tammy Abraham and Thiago Silva to their squad after both players trained during the international break.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is unlikely to be available having picked up a shoulder injury on international duty however, while N’Golo Kante might also miss out having strained his hamstring with France.
West Bromwich Albion injuries and team news
Sam Allardyce has virtually a full squad to choose from, though loanee Conor Gallagher won’t be able to feature against his parent club. His absence will lead to a reshuffle in midfield with Robert Snodgrass favourite to make the XI.
