Chievo vs Inter Milan Predictions
Everyone who foresaw Chievo vs Inter Milan as a likely 1st v 2nd match-up early in the Serie A season, put your hands up. It might be wrong to suggest that either side is an out and out surprise in terms of their performance through three games, but in a league where the top teams have failed to match their potential so far, it’s still something.
The pressure might just start building on Chievo. They were underdogs in their opener against Empoli, which they won 3-1, they were a long shot against Lazio, but they won that match-up 4-0. Last weekend, most pundits felt that their run would surely come to an end against defending Serie A champions Juventus. Instead, Chievo headed to Juventus stadium and earned a draw. Want to bet against them this weekend?
Most expected that Inter Milan would be an improved team in 2015-16 after missing out on European football for a second consecutive season. They’ve beaten Atalanta and Carpi, but their best win of the season came in their most recent match-up earning a 1-0 decision in a high-pressure situation against AC Milan. Still, this is Inter’s first serious test away from home.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Chievo are legitimate
They play an aggressive style of football, have young players on form and are riding a wave of momentum. We’re not going to bet against the continuation of that on Sunday for Chievo.
2. Mancini is still overly cautious
Inter are a better team in 2015-16, but this is still Roberto Mancini and caution is still the order of the day. It might only be Chievo, but we think Mancini will be guilty of not going all out to win this game.
3. Good odds
The odds in Chievo in this game are still very positive, even after their good start to the season. We like how that shapes up right now. Perhaps their surge won’t last forever, but it’s worth betting on them while it lasts.
