      Chile vs Colombia Predictions

That would move them to 9 points from their opening 3 games after wins at home to Brazil and away to Peru in the opening round of games. They have won 9 of their last 10 matches now and 9 of those games were in Santiago where they are very comfortable having ended their trophy drought by winning their home Copa America in July.

The only game away from the Chilean capital was last time out away to Peru when Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas both bagged braces in a thrilling 4-3 win. They are playing some excellent attacking football at the moment, something that not so long back Colombia were doing too.

They impressed everyone with their performances in Brazil last year but since then it’s not been such a happy time for the Colombians. The goals have dried up and they have only scored 3 times in 6 competitive matches since the 2014 World Cup.

They did beat Peru at home in their opening 2018 World Cup qualifier but were on the wrong end of a heavy 3-0 defeat in Uruguay last time out and all is clearly not quite right with them at the moment.

A trip to an in-form Chile is a daunting prospect at the best of times and it is hard to see the visitors getting anything here. You can back the hosts to secure a home win for the 8th time in just 5 months at odds of 3/4 here.

They are always a threat going forward and have scored 3 or more goals, in 4 of their last 8 matches. They can be a bit soft at the back at times though as Peru exploited effectively last time out so Colombia’s talented if misfiring forwards might get some joy too.

Chile are the form side and with home advantage a 3-1 win shouldn’t be beyond them and can be backed at odds of 14/1.
