Colorado Rapids vs Los Angeles FC Predictions
Despite some much-improved form over the last month or so, Colorado Rapids remain bottom of the Western Conference table heading into Saturday’s match against the league leaders. LAFC hold a six-point lead at the top and have a game in hand over second-placed side LA Galaxy, so have already established themselves as the team to beat in the Western Conference this season.
Colorado Rapids made the trip to Canada last weekend to face Vancouver Whitecaps where the visitors shot out of the blocks to lead 2-0 inside the opening twenty minutes thanks to goals from Rubio and Shinyashiki. However, Vancouver Whitecaps pulled a goal back in stoppage time and then equalised with ten minutes left on the clock to rescue a share of the spoils. LAFC’s last league game arrived on the 2nd June when they made the trip to Portland Timbers. Vela opened the scoring for the visitors in the sixth minute and teammate Rossi made it 2-0 before the break. Portland pulled a goal back early in the second half but Blessing restored the visitor’s two-goal advantage shortly after. The hosts made it 3-2 six minutes from time but LAFC held on to secure another win on the road.
The form and performances of both of these clubs since last month points towards both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals being produced on Saturday, with the most likely end result being a draw. Both teams scored and over 2.5 goals were produced in four of Colorado Rapids’ last six and three of LAFC’s last four matches and the hosts have kept one clean sheet in their last five MLS games, while their guests have kept one clean sheet in their last four league games. Colorado Rapids haven’t lost any of their last six MLS games and LAFC haven’t lost any of their last ten games in all competitions, which is why we’re backing Saturday’s game to end in a 2-2 draw.
Kamara top score for Colorado Rapids with eight league goals this season, while Vela has an amazing sixteen for LAFC and both will be looking to add to their tallies this weekend. We’re confident that both teams will sore and over 2.5 goals will be produced on Saturday, and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-2. Both teams head into the game in good form and in the midst of unbeaten runs in the MLS, which is why we’re backing this bottom vs top clash in the Western Conference to end all square and provide lots of entertainment.
