St Patrick’s Athletic’s hopes of winning the League of Ireland title look all but dead after three defeats in a row have left them languishing in midtable.

Stephen Kenny will have to find a way to pick his team back up after that poor run but they could not have asked for a much better fixture than travelling to take on bottom side Cork City on Friday.

The hosts have lost 11 of their 21 league games and are now four points adrift after a pair of wins for second-bottom Sligo Rovers in recent weeks.

Cork are ten games without a win and have been particularly poor defensively as of late, shipping four against Shamrock Rovers and losing 3-2 when they last played St Pat’s in May.

They have been better at home than on the road but they are very difficult to fancy in their current form, even with the struggles of Kenny’s men.

St Pat’s are unbeaten in the last 15 meetings between these two teams and that run looks set to continue with a victory for the away team.
