Coventry vs Wrexham Predictions

Coventry are the best bet when they host Wrexham at the CBS Arena on Sunday. Frank Lampard’s side enjoyed a big win in their last Championship game and can follow that up with another victory over Phil Parkinson’s visitors.

They beat Portsmouth 5-1 in their last Championship game on Tuesday, with Haji Wright striking first in the 12th minute. Ephron Mason-Clark fired two goals and Kaine Kesler-Hayden also found the net. Coventry were 8/13 to win the game and this victory makes it 16 wins in the 26 matches in which they have been odds-on this season.

Championship leaders Coventry have 26 wins from their 44 games this season, while Wrexham are sixth in the table having won 19.

The Coventry attack has had no problems finding the net this season. They have scored an average of 1.86 goals a game in their 21 Championship games against other top-half teams, and no team has scored more goals overall than Coventry’s 90 in 44 games. They have scored three goals or more in 15 of their 44 matches.

Defensively, there’s been a lot to like about Coventry this season. No Championship team has shipped fewer goals than their 44 in 44 games, and at home they have conceded just 18 goals in 22 matches – an average of 0.82 goals per game.

Coventry’s recent results are encouraging. They have won five of their last seven home games and have tasted defeat just once in the last ten matches in the Championship.

A 2-0 home win looks the best correct-score option. Three of the last four of Coventry’s Championship games have gone under 2.5 goals and nine of their 26 successes this season have been by two goals.
