Crewe vs Walsall Predictions

Crewe should be backed to get a home victory over Walsall on Saturday. The visitors are out of form coming into this game and could be heading for another defeat here.

Ninth-placed Crewe are two places above Walsall in 11th, with just a three-point gap between the two teams. Both sides have won more games than they’ve lost this season, with Crewe boasting 16 wins and Walsall 15.

Crewe have been prolific upfront, scoring an average of 1.31 goals a game in their 16 League Two matches against other top-half teams this season. They have been even more potent at home, averaging 1.43 goals a game in their seven league games against the best sides.

Walsall’s recent results do not inspire confidence. They have only won one of their last ten League Two matches, and five of the last seven have ended in defeat. They come into this game on the back of two successive reverses.

Crewe have enjoyed success in five of their last seven home games in League Two.

The Saddlers’ defence has been far from watertight of late. Walsall have failed to keep a clean sheet in 11 of their last 13 League Two games and have conceded on each of their last six road trips.

At least one team blanked in five of the last seven League Two meetings between these two and Walsall have lost 12 league matches this season, four of them by a 2-0 scoreline. A 2-0 home win for Crewe looks the best correct-score bet.
