Cruzeiro vs Sao Paulo Betting Tips

Sao Paulo are 8 points and 5 places better off than their opponents as they head to Belo Horizonte. Although neither has any hope of winning the title nor are they in danger of going down, there is still plenty to play for here.

The visitors are 1 place outside the Copa Libertadores places but are level on points with 4th place Santos with only 5 games to go. Cruzeiro are having a disappointing campaign but a place in next year’s Copa Sudamericana would represent a small consolation and they are looking good to achieve that now after a 9 match unbeaten run in the league.

They’ve still not hit the heights of last season when they claimed a 4th Brazilian title but are looking a bit more like their old selves so this will be a tough game for a Sao Paulo side that are also in good form in the league with 7 points coming from their last 3 fixtures.

This is a game that both managers will believe they can win and we should see a fairly open contest. There have been 3 or more goals in all of the last 5 matches involving Sao Paulo and both teams have scored in 4 of them. Cruzeiro games haven’t been quite as entertaining but with home advantage they will be expected to take the game to their opponents.
