Dagenham and Redbridge vs Torquay Predictions

Torquay have found Dagenham and Redbridge to be very tough opponents in the last few years and that’s unlikely to change when the two playoff chasing sides meet at Chigwell Construction Stadium.

The Gulls have failed to win their last seven games against the Daggers, although they probably thought they were one their way to breaking that dismal run when 2-0 up after 12 minutes in January’s meeting at Plainmoor. But Daryl McMahon’s men rarely know they are beaten and snatched a draw – as they did in their last home fixture when Pat McCallum popped up with a composed finish in the 94th minute.

The Daggers have taken 17 points from losing positions this season, showing they have the spirit and quality to come back from adversity – something that hasn’t been as evident from Torquay. Gary Johnson’s side are virtually out of promotion reckoning – although not yet mathematically eliminated from contention – having lost two of their three previous road games in the run-in.

This figures to be very tough for them and with more at stake for the hosts, our match result selection is for a Daggers win. Torquay, having conceded at least two goals in three of their last four National League road trips, could well go down 2-1 here.
