Better expected of DC back in the capital

DC United have a decent record at home this season and they’ll be glad of the return to Audi Field when they take on New York Red Bulls in the early hours of Monday morning.

Hernan Losada’s side have won just one of their last five starts, though four of those have been on the road where they’ve lost five from eight in total this term.

United have fared far better on their own turf where they’ve won four from six, including a blistering 7-1 romp over Toronto at the beginning of the month.

New York Red Bulls have improved on their travels of late and managed to beat Orlando City 1-2 on their penultimate away start, though they’ve lost four from seven overall on the road in 2021 and it’s difficult to fancy them here on that basis.

With DC expected to return to something like they’re best in Washington, we’re getting behind the hosts in this one at a shade of odds-against. United are unlikely to be as dominant as they were on their last outing at Audi Field, but they’re well priced to bag a fifth home win in seven and 2-1 is our correct score prediction.
