Austin FC vs Los Angeles FC Predictions
- Austin FC enjoyed a big win over Portland Timbers last week.
- Los Angeles FC have lost three of their last four away MLS games.
- Los Angeles FC are playing the third game of a brutal away stand and have had two days less rest than Austin FC.
El Tree are growing into a capable side
Austin FC are finally enjoying the fruits of their new surroundings after last Thursday’s 4-1 thumping of Portland Timbers showed the Q2 Stadium could generate one of the best atmospheres in the MLS.
The crowd wasn’t the only reason why Josh Wolff’s side could be feared by their playoff rivals down the stretch as the head coach now appears to have the spine of a very useful side.
El Tree had scored just once in the six games since Daniel Pereira got injured against Nashville, but the midfielder’s return saw Austin FC’s attack bloom against Portland.
Los Angeles FC could be the next to find out the hard way as Bob Bradley’s men arrive for the third game of a punishing road trip this week, having lost to Sporting KC and beaten Real Salt Lake so far.
They get two days less rest than the hosts and it may be a match too far for Bradley’s men, although changes are expected.
LAFC’s win at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sunday morning was their first away victory of the season and followed three straight defeats.
The schedule has not been kind to them here and we are forecasting another loss to go on their record.
As far as correct score bets go, the Black and Gold have tended to concede no more than two goals when they lose and with three of their four losses this season having been by 2-1 we are taking that as our selection.
