Degerfors vs IK Frej Predictions
Degerfors had a bright start to the season, but their failure to win any of their last three matches has seen the club slip down to sixth in the Superettan table. Visitors Frej sit in the relegation play-off places as things stand, but a victory on Saturday could see the fourth from bottom club move into the top half of the table.
Degerfors didn’t actually play too badly away at Halmstad last time out, but still ended up losing the game by three goals to nil. The hosts opened the scoring in the ninth minute and doubled their advantage six minutes later. Degerfors saw more of the ball in the second half and created a few chances of their own, but another goal for Halmstad in the seventy-fourth minute wrapped up a 3-0 victory. Frej and Varberg managed to play out a very even ninety minutes at Vikingavallen last time out, but a fifty-fifth minute goal for the visitors looked to have won them the game. However, with just five minutes left on the clock Ekdal forced home an equaliser to earn Frej a deserved point against the league leaders.
The recent head to head record between these two clubs and their performances in the Superettan over the last month or so, suggests that both teams will score on Saturday and that the most likely result is going to be a draw. The last four meetings between these two clubs have seen both teams score, and when the pair last locked horns in October last year the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Both teams have scored in two of Degerfors’ last four and four of Frej’s last six matches. The hosts have only kept two clean sheets in their last six matches and their guests have only managed one during that same period, which is another reason we have decided to back Saturday’s game to end in a 2-2 draw.
Björndahl and Ladan joint top score for the visitors with four goals apiece, while Frithzell has netted three times in the Superettan for Frej. We’re confident that both teams will score in Saturday’s game, and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-2. Both teams have been struggling for wins of late, with Frej drawing four of their last six in the Superettan, and when these two teams meet they more often than not both end up scoring.
