Denmark vs Northern Ireland Predictions
- Denmark have won six of their previous seven home games
- The Danes have conceded only twice in home friendlies since 2018
- NI’s 26-man squad has scored a combined 31 international goals, spread across just seven players
Danes can claim a routine home win
Denmark have won six of their last seven home matches and they’re backed to keep a blunt Northern Irish side at bay in Saturday’s friendly clash.
The Danes have an incredible record at home, only Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak have scored against them in a home friendly since the beginning of 2018.
The hosts recorded home wins to nil over Switzerland, Serbia and Portugal in their Nations League campaign, so an NI side in transition shouldn’t be much of a threat.
Michael O’Neill has overhauled his squad since returning. He has called up only two 30-year-olds for the June games. However, his side is lacking in goalscorers. Only seven members of the 26-man squad have scored an international goal, with 21-year-old West Brom midfielder the leading scorer with eight strikes.
The visitors lack the guile to pick apart a solid Danish defence, so a routine 2-0 victory appeals having landed in five of the Danes’ previous 12 home friendlies.
