AFC Bournemouth vs Brentford Predictions

Cherries and Bees could be hard to separate

Bournemouth and Brentford will feel capable of challenging for Europe once again this season but both need to find a way to turn the draws into wins.

The Cherries have two points to show from their three league games so far and they’ve conceded late equalisers in both of their stalemates. Bournemouth’s one defeat was a narrow 2-1 loss against Manchester City and they crushed Championship outfit Lincoln 4-0 in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Brentford opened the season with a 3-0 win over Tottenham and then brushed Birmingham aside 6-1 in the second round of the EFL Cup. Since then, they’ve played out back-to-back 1-1 draws with Leeds and Sunderland and like Bournemouth they conceded late equalisers in both games.

Goals at both ends the starting point

With home advantage, Bournemouth are the more likely winners but these sides look fairly well matched and may cancel each other out. Keith Andrews’ visitors are also yet to taste defeat this season and have only lost at both Manchester clubs since the end of February so they look capable of getting something from this game.

A draw could be on the cards and the best angle for our main bet is backing both teams to score, even at a short price. Brentford have scored in all of their games this season and have managed just one clean sheet, while they have conceded in each of their last five away games stretching back to last season.

Bournemouth have also scored in all of their games and their only clean sheet has come against Lincoln.

Brentford’s last two games have finished 1-1 and the Cherries have four score draws in their last five home league games going back into last season, two of which have finished 1-1. As such, a 1-1 result here feels like an obvious pick for our correct score prediction.

Bournemouth’s Rayan is yet to get off the mark in the league but he did strike in his late cameo against the Imps. The Brazilian is averaging a solid 2.3 shots per game in the league so he is getting chances and he looks a good contender for an anytime goal.
