Deportivo La Coruna vs Sevilla Predictions
This game has the potential to produce goals with Sevilla certain to come here looking for maximum points, despite an away record that reads just 1 win in 24 matches on the road in La Liga. That solitary victory did come under new boss Jorge Sampaoli last month though and they’ve only suffered one defeat on the road this term. Both teams have scored in 80% of their away fixtures and 73% of their games overall in La Liga so certainly there is the potential for goals in this one.
The visitors may rotate a little with a Champions League game against Juventus on Tuesday, which could give Depor a bit more of a chance but still there is likely to be a gulf in class between the sides. Deportivo La Coruna have only won 1 of their 10 games since the opening day and Gaizka Garitano has a really tough job on his hands. They’ve been a bit better at home than away with 75% of their goals and 70% of their points coming at the Riazor.
80% of their home games have produced goals at both ends and with Sevilla in town you could certainly see that continuing. Depor are yet to keep a home clean sheet this term, which clearly is a concern but they have been finding the odd goal at the other end, at home at least. New signing Florin Andone ended his goal drought last time out with his first goal for Depor and the striker, who was their main summer acquisition will be hoping that’s the start of things to come for him.
This is likely to be a fairly open game. Depor need to be winning their home games if they are to avoid what looks a likely relegation scrap as they don’t look like doing much on the road. Sevilla will view this as the sort of the game they need to win if their top four ambitions are realistic, so we should see both sides going for it and backing both teams to score at 3/4 looks to offer value.
