Derby vs Rotherham Predictions
Derby are in really good form having won 4 of their last 5 league matches to shoot up the table and into 5th place. They are starting to live up to their billing as pre-season promotion favourites and have an excellent opportunity to move into the top two this weekend although that is also dependent on other results.
It has been a difficult start to life at Rotherham for Neil Redfearn, who replaced Steve Evans earlier in the month. He has taken just 1 point from his opening 3 matches in charge with defeats coming against Brentford and local rivals Sheffield Wednesday last time out.
The Millers are only 1 place off the bottom and that is only courtesy of a slightly superior goal difference to Bolton. There is nothing to suggest they will cause Derby too many problems here and the Rams are very strong odds on favourites.
The only questions should surround the number of goals and margin of victory. Derby have started to score plenty of goals in recent weeks after a slow start in that regard. They were 4-2 winners in their last home game but have conceded in 4 of their 6 matches at the iPro this season.
Rotherham tend to be involved in high scoring games too and both teams have netted in all of their last 4 games. Most have been at the wrong end though and Rotherham have the worst defensive record in the league so backing Derby to win and there to be over 2.5 goals in the game at 11/10 looks like a good bet here.
It might not be quite as comfortable as you might think though. Rotherham have scored in all their away games so far but their leaky defence means they have little to show for their efforts. They have only been beaten by more than 1 goal once on the road though and have suffered five 2-1 defeats already this term in the league.
At 15/2 Derby look to decent value to inflict another 2-1 loss on the South Yorkshire side here.
