Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Two of the Rams’ last three games at Pride Park have finished 1-1. A similar result could be on the cards against a tough-to-beat Wednesday side that are coming off a good away win at Hull.

Derby vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions

  • Derby County have failed to win four of their last five home Championship matches
  • Sheffield Wednesday have avoided defeat in four of their last five away league games
  • Two of the Rams’ last three games at Pride Park have finished 1-1

Wednesday can avoid defeat in Derby

Sheffield Wednesday can maintain, or possibly extend, their two-point advantage over Derby when the two mid-table Championship sides meet on Sunday.

The inconsistent Owls just can’t seem to get a run going. Danny Rohl’s side have won four, drawn three and lost three in the last 10 games and have not registered a back-to-back win, draw or loss during that span.

With that in mind, it may be best to avoid backing them to win Sunday’s game just days after their 2-0 win at Hull, but their away form certainly suggests they can avoid defeat against Paul Warne’s side.

Wise to stay on the right side of Owls

Wednesday have won three and drawn one of their last five road games in this arduous division while the Rams have failed to win four of their last five home Championship matches.

Their last three home opponents have all started the day below Derby in the table, but the Rams have been held to 1-1 draws by Hull and Plymouth and fell to a 2-1 defeat to Swansea.

Back the visitors to at least take a point from this fixture and take a 1-1 draw in correct score betting because the Owls may still lack the ability to win two on the bounce.
