Germany yet to get going under Klopp

Germany take on Serbia in Munich on Thursday in the Nations League as Jurgen Klopp seeks his first victory since taking charge of his country’s national team.

A late equaliser denied Die Mannschaft three points in Klopp’s first game against the Netherlands, although on the balance of play they were perhaps lucky to even claim a point. Germany then dominated for large periods against Greece in Augsburg but went down 1-0.

Serbia have also endured a poor start to their own Nations League campaign with a pair of 2-1 losses.

All change for Germany

Klopp has effectively named two squads for the international break and will make wholesale changes for Thursday’s game. We should see an improved Germany and they should be able to claim the points against this fairly average Serbia team but the best betting angle looks to be backing both teams to score at around evens.

Germany have gone seven games without a clean sheet and have only failed to score in one of their last 15 games. Both teams have scored in four of Serbia’s last five games and they have gone 11 without a shut-out.

Germany should be able to pick up their first win under Klopp but the game could be closer than the prices suggest. The Serbia squad have already played two games together and were unlucky in their own defeat to Greece before competing well against a strong Netherlands outfit, while this will be the first time a lot of the German squad have played together under Klopp. Serbia have suffered back-to-back 2-1 losses, and Germany can make it a hat-trick of defeats by that scoreline in Munich.
