Tamworth vs Sutton United Predictions

• No side has allowed more than Tamworth’s 21 goals this season
• Tamworth have won only two of their ten league games
• Sutton have lost just three of their ten National League matches

Leaky Lambs heading for the slaughter 

New chairman Abdullah Ashraf was talking of taking Tamworth into the English Football League for the first time in the club’s 93-year history. However, it hasn’t been the start the Lambs were hoping for.

Tamworth have won only two of their opening ten National League matches and Andy Peaks’s men were hammered 5-1 at Aldershot on Saturday.

There have also been heavy defeats at Southend, Harrogate and Halifax and it has to be a major concern that Tamworth have already conceded 21 goals.

No side in the National League is anywhere near that number, and while a home tie against Sutton is an easier task than the Lambs have faced of late, it’s hard to have much confidence in such a leaky defence.

Sutton have beaten Woking, Altrincham, Hartlepool, Gateshead and Eastleigh this season and The U’s played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Forest Green last time out.

Tamworth’s dodgy defence has to stand up to a contest which both sides will feel they can win in this spot and taking over 2.5 goals rates a play at the Lamb Ground on Wednesday night.
