Doncaster vs Wigan Predictions

The Latics juggernaut unlikely to face much resistance

Wigan have been mightily impressive so far this season. Leam Richardson’s men currently sit in 4^th place, 5 points off top spot with three games in hand on league leaders Rotherham. They haven’t tasted defeat since the 26^th October when they fell to a 2-1 defeat at home against Lincoln, a run of 14 unbeaten in all competitions.

Wigan have been a juggernaut on their travels in 2021/22. They have won eight of their ten away league matches taking 25 from a possible 30 points. Despite playing less games (10) on the road than anyone else, no other team in League One can boast a better away record. They have scored at least two goals in nine of their ten away fixtures this season and are unlikely to face must resistance from their hosts on Saturday.

Doomed Donny set for another public flogging

In stark contrast to Wigan’s fine campaign, Doncaster Rovers have had a torrid time of things. Doncaster have only tasted victory four times in the league this season and are currently rooted to the foot of the table, nine points from safety with their fate this season all but sealed. Not even the most optimistic of Rovers fan can be hopeful in this one and another crushing defeat looks to be on the cards.

To put it simply, Wigan are a much, much better football team than Doncaster and are strongly fancied to make mincemeat of Saturday’s hosts. I will utilise the handicap markets for my main selection and will take Wigan -1 goals. In the correct score stakes I will predict a 3-0 away win.
