Doncaster vs Ipswich Predictions
- Doncaster have lost their last five home matches
- Ipswich are a much-improved side under new boss Kieran McKenna
- The reverse fixture finished 6-0 to Ipswich
Doncaster remain firmly in the mire despite recent away wins
Doncaster’s last two away fixture have resulted in shock victories. A 1-0 win at MK Dons, was followed by a 2-1 victory at Sunderland on Saturday. These two victories have given themselves an outside chance of avoiding the drop, Rovers are now eight points from safety.
Despite their recent away success, Doncaster have been truly dreadful at home of late. Rovers have lost their last five home matches, conceding 14 and scoring only two in the process. Only two sides have a worse points return at home than Doncaster this season, they look like they have their work cut out on Tuesday.
Ipswich much improve under new boss McKenna
Ipswich can take great heart from the thumping they dished out to Doncaster earlier in the season. Doncaster were thrashed 6-0 when they visited Portman Road in September. Ipswich had only won one of their previous ten fixtures leading into that game and are a much-improved side under new boss Kieran McKenna. Ipswich have won five of their last seven games, a run which has given themselves an outside chance of making the play-offs, with the gap now being eight points between themselves and sixth placed Wycombe.
Ipswich will be fancying their chances here and come into this game following a comfortable 1-0 victory against Gillingham on Saturday. Doncaster have lost far too many games this season and it is hard to make a case for them in this one, I will be siding with the visitors. Ipswich in the outright market will be the main selection. There is just enough juice in the price to not warrant playing in the handicap markets. For my correct score play I will go for a 2-0 away win.
