St Patricks 3-1

Reason for tip

St Pats are an all-or-nothing outfit that rarely settle for a share of the spoils. They won 3-1 at Drogheda earlier this season and a similar outcome could be on the cards with the visitors full of goals at the moment.

Mark Doyle To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Mark Doyle has scored in three of his last four games ahead of this clash against his former club. The striker has scored more goals with a higher goals-per-minute ratio than his namesake Eoin, who has been the favoured choice up front recently.

Goals and entertainment should not be in short supply when title-chasing St Patrick’s Athletic travel to Drogheda United on Friday.

Saints have surged into contention on the back of a four-game winning streak, going level on points with second-placed Derry after their 4-1 home win over the Candystripes on Monday.

Jon Daly’s side have drawn only two of their 20 games this term and some of their recent scorelines also suggest they are an all-or-nothing outfit that rarely settle for a share of the spoils.

Drogs can still be a danger at home

Drogheda have been dragged into the relegation play-off spot after a run of six defeats in nine, but can still be dangerous at home. At least three goals have been scored in four of their last five games with both teams obliging in three of those.

The Drogs lost 3-1 at home to St Pats earlier this season, however, and a similar outcome could well be on the cards while ex-United striker Mark Doyle could be worthy of support in anytime goalscorer markets.

He has notched in three of his last four appearances and could be due to start if Daly decides to give 35-year-old Eoin Doyle a break.
