Stuttgart and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

DFB Pokal holders Stuttgart have opened their season with successive defeats and have conceded in 19 of their last 23 competitive games, but they should get the win over a Braunschweig side that were beaten by Karlsruher on Saturday and only narrowly avoided 2. Bundesliga relegation last season.

Stuttgart 2-1

Reason for tip

Stuttgart’s opening two games have ended in 2-1 losses, but they could reverse that scoreline against a Braunschweig side that have conceded exactly twice in their last two games.

Eintracht Braunschweig vs Stuttgart Predictions

  • Stuttgart have conceded in 19 of their last 23 competitive matches.

Die Roten to begin cup defence with a win

Stuttgart lifted the DFB Pokal for the first time in almost 30 years back in May, and their defence of the cup should begin with a win at 2. Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Braunschweig on Tuesday evening.

Die Roten, who finished ninth in the Bundesliga last term, have kicked off the new campaign with successive 2-1 defeats to Bayern Munich and Union Berlin, but they look good value to reverse their fortunes at the Eintracht-Stadion.

Braunschweig’s winning start to the season was brought to an end by Karlsruher on Saturday, but Tuesday’s hosts avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season and look a few steps below their cup-winning opponents.

Stuttgart beat Kaiserslautern, Jahn Regensburg, Augsburg, RB Leipzig, and Arminia Bielefeld en route to lifting the cup last season, but they only kept one clean sheet in that run and remain vulnerable at the back, with their two defeats this term making it just four clean sheets in their last 23 competitive matches.

With Braunschweig scoring four times in their opening three games, backing Stuttgart to win and both teams to score appeals, while a reversal of their 2-1 scoreline from their opening two matches looks a solid correct score pick, with Braunschweig conceding two goals in each of their last two games.
