Borussia Dortmund to Win

Reason for tip

Borussia Dortmund have lost just one of their last ten away league matches and they can get the Bundesliga restart off on the right note by claiming three points at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Borussia Dortmund 2-1

Reason for tip

Dortmund have scored at least twice in four of their last five league games while five goals in as many home games is not great for Frankfurt, so go for a 2-1 away win.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Dortmund Predictions

  • Borussia Dortmund have lost just one Bundesliga match this season
  • Both teams have scored in 15 of the last 18 meetings
  • Dortmund have scored at least twice in four of their last five league matches

Dortmund have to keep pushing on

Chasing down unbeaten Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga looks highly unlikely for Borussia Dortmund, but they can keep plugging away by claiming a victory at Eintracht Frankfurt as German football returns from the winter break.

The champions are the only team to have beaten BvB in the league this season, but five draws have curtailed their progress and they look destined to finish second.

Their 2-1 defeat to Bayern has been their only defeat in their last ten league away matches and the fact they completed the first half of the season by scoring at least twice in four of their final five games bodes well for their visit to a team who are struggling to emulate the third place they secured last term.

Frankfurt not quite hitting the heights

Frankfurt, who sit seventh, have suffered just one defeat in their last nine games, which was a 6-0 defeat to RB Leipzig, but the fact they have scored just five goals in their last five home games means it is difficult to cast them among the Bundesliga’s elite this season.

Their season started in crazy fashion with their first five games featuring 30 goals, and things have calmed down a bit with six of their last eight league games featuring fewer than three goals.

However, that trend could be bucked with Dortmund likely to go out on the front foot in their first match since the break, and they are taken to head back east with the points with correct-score enthusiasts pointed towards a 2-1 away success.
